The most tracks were finished in summer 2006 and one thursday in August the demo CD was given to local indie label Solina Records. The final album versions of the songs were finished in the autumn 2006 and this debut album was released in November 2006.

"Shadows EP"

12" vinyl, STARS-005
Stars-Music 2006

A1: Shadows
A2: Shadows (Jori Hulkkonen Dub)
B1: Burning Rome (Vocal Mix)
B2: Burning Rome (Intrumental mix)

The shadows was the first track of Déclasse and on this EP it wasn't fully crystallised yet... Though the original mixes were made obsolete by the later and better versions recorded for "Remain Still" album the Jori Hulkkonen Dub mix still sounds good. The lyrics of "Shadows" are from the 16th century lute ballads by John Dowland and the track set a good start for Déclassé's music.

Road 18

i saw a thunderstorm
blazing in the dark
she was holding the wheel
and listening to Plaid

we had to stay awake
not to loose control
and end up dead
in a wrecked car

covered by pieces
of broken glass
lit by red and blue
emergency lights

the rain was falling hard
we had to stop the car
a quiet country road
the point of no return

between now and then
before all the changes
that were about to happen
would take their places

she had the engine running
no words to say
we didn't know our time
was running out so soon

On the breakdown lane
When all the lights are out
On the breakdown lane
When all the stars are out

when all the lights are out

decided to go on
to find a solution
no reason to stay
had to take our chances

I saw a thunderstorm
but couldn't hear a sound
she was holding the wheel
and listening to Plaid

our way through the forests
and small country towns
in an old 900
it's best days behind it

we couldn't see the road
only neon signs
drew a thin line
for us to go along

to be blinded by
the oncoming lights
the oncoming times
all the wrong decisions

the rain was falling hard
we couldn't stop the car
we didn't know our time
was running out so soon

On the breakdown lane
When all the lights are out
On the breakdown lane
When all the stars are out

Turn all the lights out now
